I wanted to convey a sense of timelessness in this piece. For when we are truly in the present we have no jaded thoughts of the past nor do we have any preconceptions or conjectures of how things should be in the future. In the present one is not surprised that a pelican sits before you enshrouded in mysterious light. It is what it is...and exists without the tangles of the mind attempting to make sense of it. It's a very quiet, peaceful place indeed.

Presence was awarded the top $4000 Skyledge Award in the 2024 TWSA show. What an honor for this zen pelican!
